Tennessee Wins Game 2 Of College World Series

Tennessee Wins Game 2 of College World Series

Vols Force Deciding Game Three with 4-1 Victory

Kurt Russell's two-run home run in the first inning gave Tennessee an early lead and propelled the Vols to a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M in Game 2 of the College World Series. The win evens the best-of-three series at one game apiece, setting up a winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday night. Tennessee's offense was clicking on all cylinders in the early going. After Russell's home run, Luc Lipcius added a two-run shot of his own in the second inning to give the Vols a 4-0 lead. Texas A&M got on the board with a run in the fourth inning, but Tennessee's pitching staff was able to shut the Aggies down from there.

Tennessee now has to win the final two games of the series to claim a national title. The Vols will face Texas A&M in Game 3 on Monday night at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
